Presentation Night Wrap

Hinckley AFC would like to extend our thanks to everyone who helped make last night’s Presentation Evening a huge success. The night’s raffle raised £151 for the club, and the awards’ thoroughly deserving winners were:

Manager’s Player of the Year: Dominic Smith. The towering centre back has made 35 appearances for AFC this season, scoring five goals, including dramatic late winners at Pershore Town and Bromsgrove Sporting. He also won February’s Player of the Month award.

Players’ Player of the Year: Alex Morris. ‘Mozza’ made it an awards double for the centre back pairing now known as the ‘Twin Towers’. Since joining in September, Morris has made 29 appearances and scored two goals, as well as winning the Player of the Month award for March.

Supporters’ Player of the Year Winner: Nathan Walker. The first (and only) player to make 40 appearances for the club, Walker has scored six goals this season including memorable long range strikes against Alvis Sporting and Uttoxeter Town. He also won Player of the Month in January.

Supporters’ Player of the Year Runner-Up: Marco Adaggio. Despite not making his home debut until November, Adaggio is AFC’s leading goalscorer with 24 goals in all competitions. His goals have come at just under a goal a game (having made 27 appearances), and he won December’s Player of the Month award.

Supporters’ Young Player of the Year: Isaac Cooper. A consistent member of AFC’s back line all season long, Cooper has made the number three shirt his own with a series a composed performances. He has made 34 appearances this season, his solitary goal coming against Stafford Town in December, and has provided a constant threat with his long throws.

Clubman of the Year: Simon Blyth. Club Shop manager, loud supporter, minibus driver, and the organiser of every award last night apart from his own! A fully deserved award for a man who has Hinckley running through his veins.

Recognition Awards: Carl Abbott, Paul Tomlinson, Tony Workman, JJ Melligan, Ian Nichol, Dave Gunn

Acknowledgements: Joanne Abbott, ALL of Hinckley AFC’s Players and Supporters over the season.
