Matt Buchan’s Photos of 2015: Part One

Matt Buchan’s Photos of 2015: Part One

As part of Hinckley AFC’s New Year celebrations, we asked club photographer Matt Buchan to review 2015 by picking his favourite photos from the year.

Matt provides the club with an extremely valuable service, and has chosen his top ten images from the year just gone. He started off by saying: ‘I would like to thank everyone associated with the club: players, backroom staff, board members and volunteers. Without these people there would be no team, club, supporters, atmosphere and matchdays and most importantly no memories.

‘I am so proud to be part of the journey as club photographer, trying to capture these memories for you, as fans, to treasure and enjoy.

‘Looking back over 2015, I am sure you will agree that it’s been an incredible journey that has brought exceptional memories for Hinckley AFC, from the sloped muddy bog at Pelsall Villa to victory over Redditch United in the FA Cup.’

We’ll reveal the top five tomorrow, but here are numbers six to ten to get us started…

Number Ten: Lichfield City 0-2 Hinckley AFC Nathan Walker battles for the ball on a wet and muddy afternoon at Lichfield

Number 9: Highgate United 2-2 Hinckley AFC I don't think I have ever seen a more sloped defensive wall!
Number Nine: Highgate United 2-2 Hinckley AFC
I don’t think I have ever seen a more sloped defensive wall! Even though it looked comical at the time, the wall did its job and Hinckley held on to a precious 2-2 draw at the league leaders.

Number Eight: Nuneaton Griff 0-2 Hinckley AFC For me, this game will be remembered for some great saves by both keepers
Number Eight: Nuneaton Griff 0-2 Hinckley AFC
For me, this game will be remembered for some great saves by both goalkeepers, especially the bullet save by Sam Arnold in the first half. But photographically, this shot of the Nuneaton Griff ‘keeper at full stretch is number eight in my top ten.

Number Seven: Pelsall Villa 2-3 Hinckley AFC I love this photo simply because of the reaction from the crowd when Marco scored the winner

Number Six: Bardon Hill 1-0 Hinckley AFC This shot of Robbie Millington challenging the Bardon Hill 'keeper just shows the determination in Hinckley's effort to grab an equaliser in the dying minutes of the Jelson Homes Senior Cup Final
