Hinckley AFC World Cup 2017

This Christmas, we’ll be finding out what has been your favourite Hinckley AFC moment of 2017.
There have been lots of memorable days over the last 12 months, but as part of our #AFCeasonsgreetings we’ll be finding out your favourite in a Twitter world cup style vote.
We’ve picked eight of our favourite matches from the last 12 months and will pit them against each other in a Twitter vote until you decide the winner just before Christmas Day itself.
The first quarter final in our Hinckley World Cup 2017 is between the away win at Worksop in the Emirates FA Cup, and the victory over Deeping Rangers in the Buildbase FA Vase. We’ve reviewed each of the games below, and provided links to the match reports and galleries so you can fully re-live the days before casting your vote…
Worksop Town 1-2 Hinckley AFC
7DM21844
AFC were dealt a tough draw in the extra preliminary round, with an away tie at Northern Counties East League side Worksop looking a tricky one to get a result from.
But the magic of the FA Cup struck again. Isaac Cooper’s late goal secured progress for AFC after a stunning away performance in which Sean Williams’ opener was cancelled out by Worksop’s Liam Greenfield.
It was a fine start to the season on a sunny afternoon in north Nottinghamshire.

Hinckley AFC 3-1 Deeping Rangers
3Q1A6670
Hinckley had started well under the relatively new stewardship of Dale Belford, including a fine win in the second round over AFC Mansfield.
United Counties League high flyers Deeping Rangers appeared a similarly tough cup draw, but AFC’s strong presence in the cup competitions prevailed again.
They were on the back foot for much of the half with Deeping controlling the midfield, but Steve Hart’s well-placed opener gave Hinckley the lead.
The visitors equalised through Scott Coupland, but Dominic Perkins and James Williams both headed quickfire goals to see Hinckley through to the fourth round for a second straight year.
