Romulus 3-1 Hinckley AFC

Hinckley AFC fell to a 3-1 defeat in their second pre-season friendly in what was a good workout at Romulus.

The Roms, who have signed many of the players that won Division One with Heather St John’s last season, were AFC’s second Premier Division opponents in two games.

But the sides competed well in the first half, which ended goalless.

The second period sprung into life when former Hinckley man Josh Willis gave Romulus the lead, only for Hinckley hit hit back through Jake Healy – who had only just come on as a substitute.

Romulus, though, took the win thanks to a pair of late goals from strike pair Simeon Cobourne and Trea Bertie, who scored 70 goals between them in Division One last season, saw Romulus to victory.

AFC are next in action with the trip to The Lamb Ground on Saturday to take on Tamworth’s Under 21s.
