Under 18s in friendly draw

Hinckley AFC’s Under 18s played out an action-packed draw with Coventry Alvis Under 18s in a pre-season friendly, writes Lee Measom.

The game was full of action but it saw Alvis dominate most of the game, only for Hinckley to level late on.

The first chance came on eight minutes as Alvis put one over the bar and a couple of minutes later, Alvis struck the post as the first ten minutes saw them dominating all areas of the pitch.

With 18 minutes gone, Hinckley’s keeper made a good save as a shot came in from the left but the ‘keeper dealt with it calmly.

Soon after, Hinckley had their first chance as Callum Carey put one over the bar as Hinckley came into the game. They then had another chance nine minutes later when Will Dunlop hit a shot over the bar.

The first goal came after 35 minutes as Alvis rolled the ball past the ‘keeper who came out but mistimed it as the ball rolled over the line.

After half time, Carey had another good chance but he hit it wide of goal from the right.

But Hinckley drew level with 11 minutes left as a good team move led the ball to the feet of Dunlop, who tapped past the onrushing keeper to share the spoils.
