Club statement: Under 18’s

Hinckley AFC are sad to announce that with no manager and a lack of players, the club have resigned the Under 18 side from the Midland Floodlit Youth League with immediate effect.

Over the last couple of seasons, around 20 players from our Under 18s side made first team appearances but the youth team has sadly now had to fold owing to a lack of players and manager.

The Board of Directors said: “For some months now the directors have been working tirelessly to find a new manager to take the helm after former manager Matt Nutt had been offered a coaching role at Coventry City Academy.

“Each time we thought we had secured a replacement, unfortunately it couldn’t be finalised. With time running short to resume our fixtures it has come to a point where reluctantly we had no choice but to sadly inform the league with the lack of a manager and lack of numbers we were to fold the team with immediate effect.

“The board of directors would like to place on record it’s thanks for the Under 18 players who carried on playing for the side whilst going through a very rough period and to the MFYL for allowing us a grace period to resolve our issues.

“Hinckley AFC remain comitted to having an U18s set up and will look at possibilities for the future to resurrect the side.”
