Defensive trio latest to join

Defensive trio Oli Bradshaw, Callum Witherington and Drew Kear have become the latest three players to join Hinckley AFC ahead of the new campaign.

Powerful centre back Bradshaw has spent the last four seasons at the now dissolved NKF Burbage, making 60 appearances in Division One across the last couple of years.

He was also a regular part of their side that earned promotion from Divisions Two and Three in their rise up the non-league pyramid.

He also demonstrated his prowess from set pieces by scoring 24 goals in that those four campaigns, a commanding figure in both boxes.

Meanwhile, Witherington and Kear are both known to first team coach Ryan Conneely through his work at the Strachan Football Foundation.

Kear is a full back while Witherington, a centre back who can also play on the right, briefly appeared for Coventry Copsewood towards the end of last season.

And manager Courtney Belford says the aim is for Witherington and Kear is to follow in the footsteps of Reece Giles and progress into the first team through patience and hard work. He said: “The hope for them is that they will break through like Reece did.

“They did well at Gresley on Saturday and we’ve shown that we’re not afraid to give young players a chance.”

Welcome to the club, Oli, Callum and Drew!
