Match Preview: Dunkirk (a)

Hinckley AFC will look for a second consecutive away win when they face Dunkirk for the first time.

AFC picked up all three points with an impressive display at Bourne Town last week when two goals in each half earned the win.

Now, they’ll hope to build on that with the trip to Nottingham to face a Dunkirk side who have won one and lost three of their matches so far.

They had a comfortable win over Borrowash Victoria in their first home game but have lost the other three. Each of them, though, were only by a one-goal margin.

Scott Litchfield leads the way in front of goal with four, including three from the penalty spot. Jack Harrison follows close behind with three.

Meanwhile, AFC will hope to extend their unbeaten start to the season which has yielded two wins and two draws so far.

Hinckley have the best defensive record in the division at the moment having only conceded two goals in their four games.

Manager Courtney Belford says he’s delighted with the partnerships being developed at the back Matt Hill in goal and the centre back pairing of Brandon Hallmark and Ben Whitehead are ever-presents.

He’s hopeful of having Tom Weale back in the side ahead of the weekend. Mikkel Hirst and Ben Newport are also close to a return from injury and could feature.
