FA Vase first round draw

Hinckley AFC will host Cogenhoe United in the first round of this season’s Isuzu FA Vase.

AFC’s reward for beating Stafford Town is another home tie, with the United Counties Premier South side visiting Kirkby Road.

The Cooks scored once in each half to beat Raunds Town this weekend, having previously edged past league rivals Rothwell Corinthians in the Vase.

They sit solidly in the middle of the Premier South table, with two wins and two draws earning them eight points from their eight league games so far.

This is the second time the sides have been drawn together this season, though the first ended up not happening. Had Hinckley beaten Wolves Casuals and Cogenhoe beaten Stone, the two would have met at Kirkby Road in the FA Cup preliminary round.

The tie will be played on the weekend of Saturday 22nd October, meaning our home game against Coventry Copsewood in Division One will be re-arranged.

The winning club will progress to the second round and pick up £825 from the FA’s prize pool. Losing sides receive £250.
