A fans’ favourite during two spells with Hinckley United, Sam Belcher linked up with Hinckley AFC in the summer of 2018 seven years after leaving the old club.

Having originally joined on loan from Wycombe Wanderers, the composed midfielder made an immediate impact at the Greene King Stadium and joined for a second spell in 2011 from local rivals Nuneaton Town.

It was during that time he helped United to the first round of the FA Cup, scoring three times across the tie as United beat Darlington in a replay before narrowly falling to Tamworth.

After leaving Dean Thomas’ side, he spent time with the likes of Chasetown, Bedworth United and most recently Rugby Town, where he spent the latter part of last season before joining AFC.

Dubbed “the non-league Fabregas” during his time with Hinckley United, AFC fans will be hoping they can see more of the same from the popular midfielder this time around.
