A former Leeds United youngster, Simon made eleven first team appearances for the Yorkshire side, making his Premier League debut in their 6-1 hammering of Charlton Athletic in 2003.
Before that, he had loan spell with Hull City, for whom he scored on his professional debut, and had several loan spells in the football league afterwards.
He then had two year spells with Darlington and Hereford United before dropping into non-league with the likes of Guiseley, Halesowen Town and Solihull Moors, before making one substitute appearance for Hinckley United.
He is now focused on obtaining his coaching badges, and will provide a valuable experienced head alongside JJ Melligan’s in the middle of the park.
