Tommo Disappointed by Heather Draw

Hinckley AFC assistant manager Paul Tomlinson was disappointed by his side’s performance level in their 2-2 draw with Heather St John’s on Easter Monday.

A depleted Hinckley side twice took the lead, but were pegged back on each occasion by a Heather side who created the better of the chances and will be arguably disappointed not to take all three points.

And Tomlinson felt his side let down the bumper crowd of 321 that came through the gate. He said: ‘I’m really disappointed in our level of performance today. There seemed to be no energy about the side at all.

‘We made a lot of changes today, five or six changes, and you can’t fault the effort that some of the lads have put in, but it looked like a tired, end of season game for us today.’

‘I think it was the case today that “we want to keep this unbeaten run going, and we’ll take a draw”, but I don’t see that at all. Today was a really poor performance, and for me it’s the worst performance of the last 25 games.

‘There was no energy whatsoever in the side, but credit to Heather because they did put some energy into it and they’ve caused us some troubles.’
