Match Preview: Heather St John’s (a)

It will be an historic occasion for Hinckley AFC this Heather St John's badgecoming Saturday when the club plays its first ever match away at landlords Heather St John’s.
Despite not usually producing a match programme for pre-season friendlies, Heather will be producing one for Saturday’s match, costing £1.
Ahead of the inaugural fixture, manager Carl Abbott spoke of his excitement at leading the team into its first season. He said ‘Myself and my staff are extremely excited about the task at hand.
‘I hope that Saturday’s fixture will give a great deal of satisfaction to everyone who has been involved with the new club.’
Since taking charge of the club back at the beginning of May, Hinckley AFC badgeAbbott has brought together a squad of fifteen players who have signed for the club ahead of its initial season, something that the former Wolverhampton Casuals boss found challenging.
‘I must admit that building a side from scratch has been a greater challenge than I anticipated, but we have an exceptional group of players and we will develop a style of football that is attractive for the supporters, and hopefully successful as well.
‘We will be playing two different elevens on Saturday, playing in two different formations that we will look to utilise throughout the season.
‘As a community club, we gave the opportunity for local players to trial with us and prove that they have the ability to play for the club.
‘A number of them have done well to date, and they will be given an opportunity in next week’s fixture away at Bartley Green Illey.’
