Chandler Pegg became Tamworth’s youngest ever player when he made his Lambs debut just two days after his 16th birthday.

His appearance in the National League North came as a reward for his exploits in the club’s academy, which yielded a handful of first team starts.

The forward, who can also play wide, spent two one-game spells on loan with Hinckley in 2019 and 2020.

He also had brief step five experience with Romulus and Highgate United, before joining Lichfield City in the summer of 2021. He spent more than a season with Lichfield in their debut campaign at step five, chipping in with 11 goals despite most of his appearances being from the bench.

But he decided to link back up with Hinckley in September of 2022 in search of more playing time and made an immediate impact, scoring a late winner on debut against Stafford Town in the FA Vase.

There was more of that to follow as he plundered 39 goals in 36 games that season, picking up the Supporters’ Young Player of the Year, Manager’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year as reward for it.
