Experienced full back Matt Dawson joined Hinckley AFC in September 2022 from Leicestershire and step six rivals Aylestone Park.

Such was his impact at the back and going forward that he was voted as the Supporters’ Player of the Year in his first season with the club.

He adds considerable higher level experience to the Hinckley back line, having spent two separate spells with Quorn and a spell at step four with Stamford.

His first breakthrough into first team football came with Anstey Nomads, which earned him a move to Stamford in 2019.

A return to Quorn followed after that, where he remained until moving to the United Counties Division One with Aylestone in the latter part of 2021/22.
