Goalkeeper Matt Hill initially joined Hinckley AFC on a month-long dual registration from Rugby Town in September 2020.

Having spent the previous two seasons as their number one at step five in the United Counties Premier, the stopper has good non-league pedigree after enjoying a good couple of seasons at Butlin Road alongside former AFC men Ryan Seal and Lee Thomas.

He impressed during his initial month with AFC that his deal was quickly extended to cover the rest of the season, until the second national covid lockdown struck. He was then one of the first players to sign for the following season, in which he was ever-present as the team reached the United Counties League play-off final.

He departed back to Rugby that summer, where he won the United Counties Premier South title, and started the following season as their number one at step four before losing his place and re-joining Hinckley on loan in November and then permanently.

Matt came through the academy at Solihull Moors and had a loan spell in Division One with Bolehall Swifts. He’s also featured at higher levels for Rushall Olympic, St Ives Town and Bedford Town.
