Thompson Pleased with Second Half Turnaround

Hinckley AFC assistant manager Kevin Thompson was pleased with the impact that second half substitute Justin Nisbett had on Tuesday night’s 3-3 draw against Sutton Coldfield Town.Justin Nisbett 2nd goal v Sutton Coldfield

Hinckley were 2-0 down at half time, when Nisbett came on, and with thirteen minutes to go Hinckley were leading 3-2 – the former Kidderminster Harriers winger scoring the first two and setting up the third for Matt Bailey.

He said: ‘Justin’s done very well. He came on and he’s shown that bit of desire to get at players. In the first half, we were a little disappointed with our tempo – we weren’t at it.

‘We tweaked it a little in the second half, but that was always the game-plan, to change our shape. We’ve done that in most pre-season friendlies.

‘It was about that tempo and that desire to get into their third, and really get at them. To be fair, Justin turned the game tonight. His trickery in the corner for the third goal was absolutely fantastic.’

However, Hinckley were left ruing injuries to goalkeeper Matty Martin and trialist Liam Storer, who both had to come off because of knocks sustained in the second half.

‘We’ve picked up a couple of injuries. Matty has gone down with a bit of concussion. He wasn’t too sure where he was, so we took him off as a precaution. The paramedics are looking after him now.

‘Then young Liam felt something go in his knee, so again it was precautionary that we took him off. He’s gone for an x-ray, so hopefully we’ll know within the next couple of hours where we’re at with him.

‘It’s a shame, but that’s football. Unfortunately you get these setbacks’
