Wright’s Praise for Supporters

Hinckley AFC midfielder Asa Wright has thanked the club’s fans for their continued support during the recent tough run.

Speaking after Hinckley broke their winless streak with a 3-0 victory over Houghton Rangers on Tuesday night, Wright praised the fans, who have turned up in numbers despite some disappointing results.

‘It’s hard when you aren’t winning. Coming in after a bad result regularly begins to get to you, but the backing from the supporters is something I haven’t seen myself before.

‘The supporters at Hednesford (Wright’s previous club) are very good as well, but the Hinckley supporters are great.’

Wright was effective holding in midfield on Tuesday, breaking up the opposition’s attacks on a regular basis, and helping to create chances: his pinpoint through ball set up Bellingham for Hinckley’s second goal.

‘That’s my game really. I like to keep things simple: break up play, put the tackles in, do the things that some players don’t usually like to do.

‘It creates chances for the likes of Bello, and thankfully he was able to put it away tonight.’
