Match Preview: Atherstone Town (a)

Hinckley AFC will look to record their third league win in four games when they make the short trip up the A5 to Atherstone Town in the Midland League First Division tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.

Carl Abbott’s side beat high-flying Cadbury Athletic last weekend, Matt Gardner scoring all three goals, and after Tuesday’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Alvechurch in the JW Hunt Cup, Hinckley’s focus will now revert back to climbing the league table.

In contrast, Atherstone were hammered 8-0 by Stafford Town on Tuesday, and they now lie one place and one point above Hinckley, in fourteenth, going into the match at Sheepy Road. The Adders are currently without a manager after Ivor Green resigned yesterday.
