AGM Roundup

Hinckley AFC’s first board of directors were elected as the membership attended the club’s AGM earlier this evening.

The election results rounded off an historic night for the club, reflecting the huge progress that has been made in such a short space of time.

The seven people elected to take the club forward are Russ Abbott, Ron Ashby, Richard Gamble, Gary Hancox, Steve Jelfs, Laura McManus and Bryan White.

The evening’s affairs started off news of a ‘Hinckley AFC Ale’. Two ales were sampled by members, who then voted on the drink they would like to become the official ‘Hinckley AFC Ale’, thanks to Greene King.

Proceedings continued with a ‘Chairman’s Report’ from Interim Chairman of the Working Group Gary Hancox, who thanked the many people involved in helping the club reach this stage.

After the ‘Treasurer’s Report’ from Linda Newman and the ‘Secretary’s Report’ from Steve Jelfs, local politician Chris Kealey took to the stage to give his backing to the campaign to bring Hinckley AFC back to the town.

After a short break while the votes were counted, the election results were announced. We would like to thank independent adjudicators Richard West and Adrian Rock for counting and verifying the votes.
