Hinckley AFC manager Carl Abbott hopes to have a newHinckley AFC badge signing in his ranks when his side take on Alvis Sporting Club at St John’s Park tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.

Ross Clarke is a 24 year old dynamic central midfielder, who scores lots of goals and has been a prominent figure at Boldmere St Michaels for a number of years.

He spent last season at Halesowen Town, playing in the Yeltz side that won promotion from the Northern Premier League Division One South, and has played for the Sutton Coldfield Town side that is top of the same league this year.

Of the midfielder, Abbott said: ‘I am very happy with the make up of our squad, but Ross has become available and will enhance what we have at our disposal.

‘I am hopeful that we will have completed his signing by tomorrow afternoon’s fixture, or by Tuesday evening at the latest.

‘I wasn’t specifically looking at making an addition at this time, but as Paul Tomlinson preaches to me: “when an opportunity presents itself to make an improvement to your squad, you take it with both hands.”‘

Hinckley have won their last three Midland League First Division outings, and as a result have moved up to eleventh in the table.

In contrast, Alvis have lost their last four league games, including a shock defeat to bottom of the table Pelsall Villa last weekend, meaning they sit eighteenth.
