Ponchinello’s Player of the Month for November: Nominees
The five man shortlist for the Ponchinello’s Player of the Month for November has been revealed, and features two new players on the list.
An inconsistent month saw Carl Abbott’s side record three wins, a draw and two defeats as they looked threatening going forward but shaky at the back at times. Here’s a look at those who impressed over the month…
The first nominee is Tom Cross. Having only joined the club in October, the former Southam goalkeeper has looked a solid last line of defence this month. He made terrific saves to preserve his clean sheet against Atherstone, excelled again a week later against Leicester Road and saved a penalty against Racing Club Warwick.
Luke Richards was branded as ‘Hinckley through and through’ by Carl Abbott following his last gasp winner against Leicester Road, with the skipper playing an influential role in that dramatic turnaround. He found the net twice that day, his second brace of the month after also scoring twice against Continental Star in the JW Hunt Cup.
Next on the list is attacking midfielder Ryan Seal. The former Kirby Muxloe man found the net five times during November, including a hat-trick against Continental Star and a crucial leveller in the league game against Littleton.
Having only joined the club at the start of the month, Lee Thomas’ start to life in a Hinckley shirt has been an assured one. His solid debut at left back against Shepshed Dynamo paved the way for some good performances from the defender, which culminated in a Man of the Match display against Racing Club Warwick.
The final nominee is the current holder of the award – October’s winner Sean Williams. It was another impressive month from ‘Willo’, who found the net against Atherstone and his Man of the Match performance against Leicester Road saw him have a hand in all three goals that helped his side overturn the 2-0 deficit. The former Bromsgrove winger could become the first player to win the award two months in succession.
