Match Preview: Leicester Road (a)

Hinckley AFC play their 100th competitive game this evening when they take on Leicester Road in the Midland League Division One, kick off 7-45pm.
Having been Manager since the start, this also marks Carl Abbott’s century of games in charge and the former Wolves Casuals boss has guided Hinckley to no fewer than 60 wins in their previous 99 fixtures.
And Abbo’s men are also just two away from netting their 300th goal in competitive fixtures as they take on another side who haven’t struggled to find the net this season.
Leicester Road are alongside Hinckley in the top five most potent attacks in Division One, having netted 88 times in their 35 matches.
One thing that will please both Abbott and his opposite number Neil Lyne is the variety of sources providing the goals – both teams have five players who have scored ten times or more in the league.
After defeat to Racing Club Warwick last Tuesday, Leicester Road got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win over Pershore Town on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Hinckley will be looking to return to the attacking prowess that saw them net 30 goals in three fixtures against Southam United, Stafford Town and Studley.
They will also take heart from their two previous games against Leicester Road, when late goals gave them two dramatic victories.
In the league game, AFC came from 2-0 down to score a 94th minute winner through Luke Richards, before the Jelson Homes Senior Cup Quarter Final saw Ryan Seal’s 118th minute penalty secure a 4-3 win after etxra time.
