Seal reacts to ‘deserved’ victory

Hinckley AFC midfielder and captain Ryan Seal felt his side deserved their thrilling extra time win over Wolves Sporting.
AFC went behind early on, but had the better of the game thereafter although both sides will feel they had enough chances to win it.
And the extra time goals from Paul Sullivan and Sam Agar were just reward for AFC’s efforts, according to Seal. He said: “From the very start they’ve had their chances and hit the bar and the post, then we’ve gone up the other end and hit the bar and the post and had a couple of other good chances.
“It was like a basketball game at times but I felt, possession wise, that we deserved to win it.
“I know they had their chances but in the whole I thought we deserved it. It was a great game, one for the fans I imagine, so we’re really pleased.”
The end-to-end, “basketball” nature of the first half looked to have taken the tempo out of the game come extra time, and Seal admitted the opening 45 minutes took a lot out of both teams.
“You could see at the end, people were strolling to get the ball but we kept trying to say that there were chances out there for us.
“It does take a lot out of you when you’re playing Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday especially with extra time, but the lads dug in and we managed to get it in the end.”
The club captain also said there was a little bit of “added spice” to the game, saying that a number of players in each camp knew each other.
“A Vase game is always very important and you always want to win, but the lads have been coming to us and telling us what Wolves had been saying in the build up.
“It adds a little bit of spice to it. We feel their emotions sometimes when they’re on our team so you’ve just got to back the boys.”
