Buckland Athletic to visit in fifth round

buckland-athleticHinckley AFC have been drawn at home to Buckland Athletic in the fifth round of the Buildbase FA Vase after the draw was made this morning.

Following Carl Abbott’s side’s 5-0 win over Berkhamsted on Saturday, the club’s first foray into the last 16 has yielded another home tie against the Devon outfit.

The Yellows play in the Toolstation Western League, at step five of the non-league pyramid, and are based in Newton Abbot.

They currently lie fourth, having won 15, drawn three and lost three of their 21 league games thus far. They reached this stage with a 3-1 win at Chichester City on Saturday.

And early indications are that this will be a cracker – Buckland have won their last eight in all competitions, while AFC are on a five match winning streak of their own.

The match will be played at St John’s Park on Saturday 28th January. The winners will progress to the quarter finals and receive £1,875 from the FA’s prize fund.

The four Midland League sides remaining in the competition have all avoided each other. Fellow Division One side Bromsgrove Sporting host Bristol Manor Farm or Melksham Town – the top two in Buckland’s league.

The two Premier Division sides face away trips – Sporting Khalsa are at Ely City and Coleshill Town travel to Crowborough Athletic.
