Easy Laundry Player of the Month for February

February 2017 POTMThe Twitter poll is now up for the Easy Laundry Player of the Month for February – but who gets your vote?

The month saw five matches for Carl Abbott’s pink-kitted (for three games) men and the pinks went marching into second in the table courtesy of five straight wins in February.

But who stood out for you? Take a read of the nominee review below then head over to twitter.com/hinckley_afc to cast your vote, which is open for exactly a week.

Sam Agar in the first nominee. Since returning to the fold at the end of January, Agar has shown AFC supporters what they missed during his injury-hit end to 2016. He set up the first two goals at Cadbury Athletic, and followed that up with what turned out to be two match-winning assists against Stafford Town and Heath Hayes. Despite those contributions, he was uncharacteristically three without a goal until finding the net against Racing Club Warwick, and set up Saturday’s win against Uttoxeter with an eight minute hat-trick in a performance that earned the supporters’ Man of the Match award.

From the front line to the back, Ryan Paddock is next on the list. The centre half missed Racing Club Warwick but started all four of the club’s other games this month and was part of the back five that kept a clean sheet at Cadbury. Two goals against Stafford and Heath Hayes proved vital as AFC won both of those games by the odd goal.

Mark Williams is another more defensive minded player that makes the shortlist for February. The holding midfielder also played a couple of games at centre back and formed a solid looking partnership with Paddock against Heath Hayes, Jamal Clarke against Racing Club and both against Uttoxeter. He also contributed two goals at the other end, both glancing headers from wide set pieces in the month’s final two games.

The final nominee is Sean Williams. It was another impressive month from the spring-heeled winger/forward who, like strike partner Agar, did everything but score in the first three games of the month. He set the ball rolling, though, in the win at Racing Club Warwick and also scored a vital goal just before half time against Uttoxeter after the visitors had just pulled one back.
