Hinckley AFC moved up to second in the Midland League First Division with a comprehensive 10-0 win at rock bottom Southam United.
Against a Southam side who have picked up just four points all season, AFC never looked like slipping up as they surpassed 100 league goals for the season.
Ryan Seal netted another hat-trick, while there were braces for Paul Sullivan and Sean Williams and Sam Agar, Ryan Paddock and Mark Williams also got on the scoresheet.
Carl Abbott made three changes to his Hinckley side that drew with Studley on Saturday. Jack Hartopp made his second debut for the club in goal, while Darious Darkin and Sullivan both returned.
Once Hinckley broke the deadlock a quarter of an hour in, they never looked back. The opener came through Sean Williams from the edge of the box, his effort taking a wicked deflection to beat Harry Gardiner.
Hinckley hit the woodwork four times in Saturday’s draw with Studley and their strong relationship with the goalframe continued when Sullivan rattled the bar from Darkin’s teasing cross.
Seal then forced Gardiner into a good save and Agar had a header disallowed for offside as Hinckley took control.
And the second goal soon followed when Sullivan was fouled in the box, and Seal converted Hinckley’s 100th league goal of the season by sending Gardiner the wrong way from the spot.
Four minutes later, it was three as Sullivan danced through the defence and fed Agar, who thumped home Hinckley’s third.
The goals continued to flow in the final 15 minutes before half time. Sean Williams scored his second from 20 yards, this time without the aid of a deflection, before Paddock rifled in a half volley after good work by Agar and Seal, and then Sullivan looped a header inside the far post as AFC took a six goal advantage into the break.
On the hour mark, Hinckley introduced 16-year-old Lewis Riley into the action for a further taste of first team football, while Jamal Clarke also made his return from injury by replacing Andy Westwood.
Despite a difficult pitch, Hinckley still found a way to play some neat football and that continued when Seal converted Lee Thomas’ ball across the box.
And soon after, two quickfire goals saw Hinckley’s lead extend to nine. Sullivan finished coolly after being sent through on goal by Seal, and Mark Williams slid home Seal’s drilled low cross.
Agar then had to hobble off with a knock, and with Hinckley only able to name three substitutes, sub goalkeeper Haydn Whitcombe had an outfield run out for the final few minutes.
He couldn’t score, but Hinckley did make it 10-0 with three minutes to go when Seal found the bottom corner to ensure Hinckley reached double figures as they moved up to second.
