AFC to contest League Cup final

Hinckley AFC will now contest the Polymac Packaging League Cup final at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium on Monday 15th May, kick off 7-30pm.

Having thought our season was finished after last week’s final league match against Heath Hayes, the players will now be taking to the field next Monday to compete for the League Cup trophy on a Football League ground.

AFC have been reinstated into the competition after St Andrews were found to have played an ineligible player in the second leg of the semi-final at St John’s Park.

This means we will now take on Premier Division champions Alvechurch at the Bescot Stadium next Monday.

League Secretary Nigel Wood said: “The Midland Football League Board took an extremely dim view of this particular transgression of League Rule and made the decision that St Andrews be removed from the competition and that Hinckley AFC are reinstated.

“This means that the club will contest the Polymac Packaging League Cup Final at Walsall FC on Monday 15th May 2017.”

Admission prices will see adults get in for just £5, with concessions priced at £3.
