Match Preview: Paget Rangers (h)

Hinckley AFCThe first half of Hinckley AFC’s bank holiday double header sees Paget Rangers visit St John’s Park tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.

Carl Abbott’s side have a brace of fixtures this bank holiday weekend, hosting newly promoted Paget on Saturday before a trip to local rivals Atherstone for the first A5 Clasico of the season on Monday.

Hot off the back of scoring ten goals in their last two games, Abbott’s men play their fourth straight home game against a Paget side who have won one and lost two of their three games thus far.

Midland Football LeagueThey finished top of Division Two last term and won at St John’s Park just two weeks ago with a victory over Heather St John’s.

Either side of that, they have suffered defeats to Chelmsley Town and Racing Club Warwick but even at this early stage, only three sides have conceded fewer goals than the Bears.

Paget’s Dan Carter was the top scorer in Division Two last season having netted 44 times, and the striker has already scored twice in three games this term.

They will hope to replicate the scoreline from the first and only time the sides met. It came in the FA Vase second round last season, when a hat-trick from Ryan Seal and one from Paul Sullivan helped AFC to a 4-1 win in a game that gave the reformed Paget their record attendance.
