Match Preview: Brocton (h)

Hinckley AFCAfter six consecutive away games, Hinckley AFC return to St John’s Park tomorrow for their first home game in over a month against Brocton, kick off 3pm.

The sides have never played each other before, so meet for the first time tomorrow with Carl Abbott’s side looking to consolidate third place in the Total Motion MFL Division One.

AFC have won five of their nine league games thus far, six points behind early pace setters Studley, but will be looking to get back on track after last week’s defeat at Ilkeston Town.

Midland Football LeagueTomorrow, they face a Brocton side who, alongside Hinckley, were the last remaining Division One side in this season’s Emirates FA Cup. They also exited at the first qualifying round stage, losing to Deeping Rangers.

As such, they have played only six league games so far, the fewest of anyone in the division, and sit 19th in the table with just Cadbury Athletic, Coventry Alvis and Nuneaton Griff below them.

But a 6-0 win at Dudley Sports in the FA Vase last week highlights their threat, while five different players found the net for the Badgers on top of an own goal. Jack Edwards is Broctontheir top scorer with five.

Brocton are back at step six this term after a three-year spell in the Premier Division in which they finished 13th and 15th before relegation last term.
