Match Preview: Lichfield City (a)

Lichfield CityAn eighth win on the bounce is the target for Dale Belford’s Hinckley AFC side when they visit Lichfield City tomorrow, kick off 3pm.
Eight straight wins will be just one shy of Hinckley’s club record, which was set back at the start of the 2015-16 campaign when Carl Abbott guided the side to nine consecutive victories between the middle of August and the end of September.
The ongoing record was only preserved with a dramatic late winner at Nuneaton Griff a fortnight ago, and is sure to face another tough obstacle in the form of Lichfield this Midland Football Leagueweek.
City currently sit in mid-table in the Total Motion MFL Division One, but have won five of their last six home league games stretching back to August. Part of that run came during a spell playing at Bolehall Swifts while their City Ground was relaid with a 3G artificial pitch.
That pitch is now in place and will be the surface on which AFC will play their final away game of the calendar year.
Hinckley AFCAFC won the two meetings between the sides last season without conceding, winning 2-0 at St John’s Park to back up a 4-0 in Lichfield in November.
Lichfield play at the City Ground, known for sponsorship purposes as the McDonald’s Community Stadium, Brownsfield Road, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6AY.
Adults: £5
Concessions: £3
