Charity bike ride: two weeks remaining

There are just two more weeks until Hinckley AFC supporters will get on their bikes in memory of Simon Blyth- and you can still join them if you haven’t yet signed up.

Last July, a group of AFC supporters rode the 12 miles from Hinckley to Heather on bikes to raise funds in Simon’s memory for Cancer Research UK.

And after it raised more than £850, this summer it’s time for round two.

On Saturday 14th July, the day our Simon Blyth Memorial Trophy match against Heather will take place, AFC fans are invited to get on their bikes once again in memory of a good friend and fellow supporters.

Entry is £15 per person, which includes admission to the match and a drink upon arrival at St John’s Park. All riders must be over 18 and must wear a helmet.

The ride will start at The Milestone pub in Hinckley at midday, riding through Dadlington, Shenton and Bosworth Water Park before arriving at The Rising Sun in Shackerstone for the first break around nine miles in.

The remaining four miles to Heather are uphill, but a drink will be awaiting the riders upon arrival at St John’s Park.

A raffle will also be taking place at the game, with proceeds split between the Teenage Cancer Trust and a Hinckley AFC player sponsorship in Simon’s memory.
