JJ’s squad update

On the eve of the new Midland League Division One season, James Jepson has provided an update on his Hinckley AFC squad.

With just over 24 hours to go before the league opener at Stapenhill, Jepson has confirmed some ins and outs as he looks to get off to a winning start at Maple Grove tomorrow.

Leaving the club are winger Nick Goold and striker Daryll Thomas, while Lewis McLean and Benn Minshull also featured for the club in pre-season but will not be part of the competitive squad.

But in an attempt to strengthen the squad, three more players have joined AFC and will all be looking to impress in tomorrow’s game.

Goalkeeper Adam Harrison joins from Bedworth United. The 19-year-old has featured in the last couple of pre-season games and will compete with Jacob Wood for the number one shirt.

Exepreinced midfielder Craig Anderson also joins, linking up with the club from Clifton. He started out at Notts County and has also played for South Normanton Athletic and Hucknall Town.

The other addition is central defender Josh Spencer, who joins after a spell playing in America for Lionsbridge, Virginia, in one of the top leagues in Northern USA. Spencer will add strength in depth to the backline with Joe McLaughlin out for six weeks after an operation on his hand.

Welcome to the club Adam, Craig and Josh!
