More than £500 raised from charity bike ride

Hinckley AFC supporters raised £538 for the Teenage Cancer Trust in this pre-season’s charity bike ride to Heather.

The #Hinckley2Heather ride took place at the first pre-season match of the season, when a dozen or so AFC fans got on their bikes to ride the 12 miles from Hinckley to Heather.

In memory of Simon Blyth, the sweltering conditions made things difficult but those efforts were made worthwhile by raising more than £500 in Simon’s memory for the charity of his choice.

Organiser Marek Portland extended a huge thank you to everyone who contributed, including Royal Mail who donated £200 to the cause.

He said: “A big thank you also to the riders, and last but not least those at Heather St John’s for their hospitality.”
