Photographer Mark becomes the focus

Used to being behind the camera, club photographer Mark Parsons will become the focus this weekend when he takes on the Bosworth Half Marathon.

Mark can regularly be seen snapping his lens pitchside, but will be putting his camera to one side when he takes to the streets of the borough for 13.1 miles this Sunday.

He is still inviting sponsorship, which has now passed the £250 mark, on his JustGiving page, https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mark-parsons-1, and is raising money for the club and local heart charity Keep the Beat.

He was inspired to take part after the events of Boxing Day, when AFC supporter Mike Allcock collapsed at our home game against Heather St John’s.

Being first aid trained, Mark was one of those who helped treat Mike, who has since made a full recovery.

He said: “It’s not until you’re involved in such an incident that you realise just how precious life is, particularly at what should be such a joyful time of year.

“I’ve subsequently decided to do my bit by running the Bosworth Half Marathon for the Congenital heart charity Keep The Beat, and Hinckley AFC – splitting the money between the two causes.”

Good luck, Mark!
