#Hinckley2Heather raises more than £1,600

This year’s Simon Blyth Memorial Trophy including the #Hinckley2Heather bike ride raised more than £500 for each of the three charities.

The superb amount totalling £1,620 will be split equally between Mesothelioma UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and Hope Against Cancer.

The three charities were specially chosen this year – two picked in memory of Ray Baggott, one each by wife Debbie and daughters Michelle and Lorraine. The other was chosen by Julia, Simon’s partner.

Event organiser Marek Portland said: “I’d like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to this year’s effort. We’d also like to thank Heather St John’s for their donation.

“We have given some to Heather to be their manager’s kit sponsor this season.

“Everyone who contributed helped make it a really enjoyable day on what was the fifth anniversary of the ride.”

We would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to this year’s effort. We’ll see you for next year’s ride in 2023!
