Match Preview: Paget Rangers (h)

Hinckley AFC go in search of back-to-back Midland League Division One wins against unbeaten Paget Rangers at Kirkby Road tomorrow evening.

AFC’s come-from-behind win against Stapenhill eight days ago got Joe Conneely’s side off the mark for the new 2022/23 campaign.

And after a weekend with no match, Hinckley now go in search of consecutive three-point outings in the first of two matches against Paget inside four days.

The Bears have enjoyed a strong start to the new Division One season and will be looking to cement that in Monday’s league game, before the two sides go at it again in the FA Vase on Friday.

And manager Joe Conneely is anticipating a good spectacle for supporters: “They’ve made a fantastic start and by all accounts are a young, fearless and energetic side.

“A lot of their lads have who through their youth system so that’s a huge credit to them.

“It should be an exciting game tonight between two attacking and exciting sides, and hopefully we can build on beating Stapenhill and take three points into the FA Vase match against the same opponents on Friday night.”

Paget dropped their first points of the campaign on Saturday, but will take confidence from a goalless draw at fellow strong starters Ashby Ivanhoe.

They had won their previous four and sit second in the table as one of our sides yet to taste defeat.
