Match Preview: Heath Hayes (a)

Hinckley AFC will look to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at Wednesfield when they visit Heath Hayes tomorrow evening.

After losing their four-match winning streak at the weekend, Joe Conneely’s men will look to hit back at the first possible chance.

And that comes with a trip up the A5 to Heath Hayes as they look to get back to winning ways.

The defeat leaves AFC 14th but they have played at least two games fewer than everyone else in the league, bar third-bottom Shawbury.

Heath Hayes, meanwhile, have had a tough start to the season and sit bottom of the early season standings.

They have drawn two and lost seven of their games so far – one of their draws coming against fancied Stapenhill and the other against second-from-bottom Cradley. They were beaten 5-2 by AFC Bridgnorth at the Coppice Colliery Ground on Saturday. Jordan Dodd, who neared 20 goals in consecutive seasons at Rocester pre-covid, now plays for them.

The last meeting between the sides came on the opening day of the 2019/20 season, when all three goals came in the final 15 minutes. Two of them went Hinckley’s way as Courtney Belford’s first match in charge ended in victory.

Heath Hayes play at the Coppice Colliery Ground, Newlands Lane, Heath Hayes, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS12 3HH.
