Hinckley AFC 7-0 Magna 73

Sonny Sheasby had a night to remember as he marked his first-team debut with a hat-trick to help Hinckley make progress in the Leicestershire Senior Cup.

Sheasby’s impressive form in the youth team earned him an opportunity that he took with both hands, opening the scoring inside two minutes as he neatly tucked home Matt Dawson’s low cross from the right.

Moments later it was two, Sheasby timed his run well to get in behind the defence before beating the keeper with a composed finish.

It was 3-0 on the half hour, Lewis Rankin whipped in a cross that was glanced into his own net by Magna’s Arjuna Govia before Adam Barber curled home a delightful finish from the left hand corner of the area.

Sheasby was twice denied his hat-trick either side of half time, firstly by a superb save from Harry Johnson and then by an assistant’s belated flag after he netted Tom Weale’s flick.

That came before AFC extended their lead with another own goal, Daniel Jones diverting Brady Middleton’s cross home.

Barber grabbed his second before Sheasby finally did claim the match ball ten minutes from time, another clinical finish after being sent through by Weale’s well timed pass to set the seal on a memorable night for the youngster.
