Gadsby’s

Hinckley AFC are pleased to announce the official renaming of the clubhouse as ‘Gadsby’s’, based at the former Greene King Stadium.

It is named after former Hinckley United defender Matt, who tragically collapsed whilst playing for the club at Harrogate Town back in 2006.

His memory lives on through the new club, with his daughter Amelia holding the club’s Number One membership.

Hinckley AFC Secretary and owner of the bar, Steve Jelfs, said ”We had great difficulty in picking a name at the beginning. We had a few different ideas, but none of them really worked.

‘We were sat dwelling over some names, and then someone mentioned Gadsby’s. It just sounded right.’
