Twelve Moments of Christmas: Number Eight

At number eight in Hinckey AFC’s ‘Twelve Moments of Christmas’ is our first ever cup final.

Despite defeat on a mild April evening at Holmes Park, Carl Abbott’s side did themselves proud in the Jelson Homes Senior Cup final and were only denied the win by the inspired performance of Chris Martin in the Bardon Hill goal, who ensured his team were in paradise by lifting the trophy at the end of the evening.

This year, AFC will hope to go one better by lifting the trophy this time around, but to pick up a Runners Up medal in the club’s inaugural season was a superb achievement for Abbo and the team.

As a result, the cup final makes it onto our list of favourite AFC moments from 2015.
