Match Preview: Heath Hayes (a)

Hinckley AFC kick off the New Year with a trip to Staffordshire to take on Heath Hayes tomorrow afternoon, kick off 3pm.

The two sides are level on points going into the game, with Hinckley only sitting above tomorrow’s hosts on goal difference despite having played a game fewer.

And Carl Abbott’s side will be keen to avenge the defeat to Heath Hayes earlier in the season, when Daniel Scragg scored all four goals as the visitors overturned a 3-0 half time deficit.

Scragg has scored fifteen goals in all competitions this year, but will be far from Heath Hayes’ only threat going forward: he is joined in double figures on the goalscoring charts by Joseph Pickering.

But their main strength lies at the back. Only table toppers Coventry United have conceded fewer goals in the league this season. They have won four of their last five games in the league, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

But that strong defensive record is sure to be put to the test by Hinckley’s potent strike force, with Marco Adaggio and Luke Richards both having surpassed the 20 goal mark already.
