Tommo reacts to Holbrook win

Hinckley AFC Assistant Manager Paul Tomlinson hailed Sean Williams’ moment of magic that finally broke the deadlock in his side’s 2-0 win over Holbrook Sports.
Despite having the better of the game throughout, AFC were kept at level pegging by a well organised Holbrook defence, only taking the lead twelve minutes from time through Williams’ twenty yard effort.
And Tomlinson was delighted with Williams’ contribution throughout the 90 minutes that helped ensure AFC’s progression in the Buildbase FA Vase.
He said: “He (Williams) has been great, hasn’t he? Sometimes you just need that in a player and Sean’s been fantastic all game again today, as have the rest of the lads.
“Sean will always conjure up a little bit of magic somewhere during the game and to finish it as well was fantastic for him.”
Despite the goals being a long time coming, Tomlinson always felt AFC were comfortable in the game and encouraged his side to continue moving the ball in order to create their opportunities.
“I thought we were well on top in the first half and playing some decent stuff, but you can’t expect to come to any game and expect to turn teams over or win comfortably.
“They (Holbrook) are a good side, they were well organised, and we said at half time that if we kept moving the ball the chances would come.
“Lo and behold, that’s what happened. You’ve got to take your chances when they come and in the end it was a comfortable victory.”
