Match Preview: Coventry Copsewood (a)

coventry-copsewoodAfter their break on Saturday, Hinckley AFC are back in action with a trip to Coventry Copsewood tomorrow evening, kick off 7-45pm.
By tomorrow, it will have been ten days since Carl Abbott’s side last played, but they will be hoping the break hasn’t disrupted their rampant recent run.
Since defeat to Bromsgrove Sporting in late August, Abbo’s men have won six games out of seven, scoring 27 goals in the process, and sit sixth in the Midland League First Division but with four games in hand on Nuneaton Griff, who sit directly above them.
Midland Football LeagueIn contrast, Copsewood have won just one league game so far but will be boosted by a comprehensive 7-2 win over Brinklow in the Coventry Charity Cup on Saturday.
Former Hinckley forward David Blenkinsopp scored a brace in that win, and has netted in every game he has played for Copsewood so far despite only scoring once in eight games for AFC.
In Sam Agar and Ryan Seal, Hinckey have two of the league’s top seven goalscorers but Copsewood have a hotshot of their own, with David Akinuli netting seven times already.
Hinckley AFC badgeWith Akinuli and Blenkinsopp to contend with, Hinckley’s back line are sure to face a test if they want to keep a first league clean sheet of the campain.
At the other end, only Studley and Southam United have conceded more goals than Copsewood this season so goals look to be the order of the day when the sides meet tomorrow.
Coventry Copsewood play at Allard Way, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV3 1JP.
