A message from Lee Thomas

Lee ThomasAfter being offered the chance to play three levels higher at Stratford Town this coming season, Lee Thomas had a message for Hinckley AFC fans on his departure.

In it, he thanks the management, players and fans and says he couldn’t turn down the opportunity to play at a considerably higher level.

Read what he had to say below…

“Having had some time off from football since the season ended, I then started training with Stratford Town for pre-season and have now been offered the chance to be part of their squad in the Southern League Premier.

After spending so much quality time playing for Hinckley it was a hard decision, but I feel this is an offer I just can’t refuse.

I’d like to say a huge thank you to Abbo, Tommo and Simon for everything they’ve done for me during my time at Hinckley. I’d also like to thank all the players I’ve played with, and hopefully I’ll get the chance to play with many of them in the future.

But most importantly, thank you to the fans. Your support from day one has been incredible, from joining the club to being voted as the Supporters’ Player of the Year, with some memorable cup runs and fantastic league games!

All the best for the coming season,

Tommo ❤💙

Since his arrival in November 2015, Lee has been a consistent figure in the number 3 shirt and was regularly one of the first player on Carl Abbott’s team sheet.

In total, he made 76 appearances for AFC – only four players have made more – scoring two goals.

Good luck, Lee!
