Home tie in FA Vase

Hinckley AFC have been drawn at home to Hereford Lads Club in the second round of the Buildbase FA Vase.

Having been exempt to this stage of the competition after another fine run last term, AFC start their journey in this season’s competition with a home game against the West Midlands Regional League side.

The tie, which will take place at the Welfare Ground on Saturday 3rd November, pits two step six sides against each other.

Hereford beat AFC’s league rivals Paget Rangers 2-0 in the first round on Saturday, having also overcome Coventry Copsewood to reach this stage.

They currently sit sixth in their league, with six wins and four defeats among their 11 games, having won promotion from step seven last season.

Meanwhile, AFC will be looking to reach the third round for the third straight year, having been beaten by eventual semi-finalists Marske United in the fourth round last term, and eventual quarter-finalists Buckland Athletic in the fifth round the season before.

James Jepson’s men are one of 23 sides to enter the competition at this stage.
