Match Preview: Leicester Road (h)

Hinckley AFC go into tomorrow’s local derby seeking a third win in a week – and manager James Jepson wants his supporters to have a big impact at the Welfare Ground.

AFC have beaten Hereford Lads Club and Studley in the last seven days to get that winning feeling back after a brief winless run through October.

But having tasted two successes on the bounce, they will be keen to make that three when Leicester Road visit for a local derby tomorrow.

And Jepson says it’s a game his side are looking forward to, to build on their back-to-back wins.

He said: “They’re on an unbeaten run and they’ll want to come here and win, but we’ll just treat it like any other game.

“We’re expecting a good crowd, perhaps a few more than against Hereford although Hereford did bring some good travelling support with them.

“So it’s a game we’re looking forward to – the same as we were for Studley, and the same as we treated Hereford.”

And the former Rugby Town boss wants to make home advantage count, and turn the Welfare Ground into a fortress for his side.

“Our supporters are brilliant. They’ve got behind the boys, and they’re able to see the shift that the boys are putting in – especially those who travelled to Studley on Tuesday.

“I had mixed thoughts when I knew we were moving to Ibstock – but it’s a good surface, a nice little ground and it’s getting a nice buzz about it.

“I want our supporters to continue coming in their numbers, getting behind the team and enjoying watching us, as I’m sure they’ve enjoyed the last couple of games.”
