Match Preview: Blackstones (h)

Hinckley AFC will target a sixth straight win when they take on Blackstones at Bedworth United’s The Oval ground on Saturday.

And assistant manager Joe Conneely says there’s a good feel around the club because of their recent run.

AFC have won five in a row since losing to Hucknall Town at the start of the month.

And Conneely says that defeat gave them to kick up the backside they needed: “It brought us down a peg. We were playing ok before that, but that game was eye opener. That can happen.

“But since then we’ve been fantastic. This is next game and most important, and Blackstones will be a test for us. They won’t make it easy.”

But, remarkably for a side in their position in the table, they have scored in each of their last nine league games. Nathan Smith leads the way with eight goals in ten appearances for them.

But it has been at the other end where their problems have lay – conceding the most goals in the division. Their only win so far came on the road at Borrowash while they have picked up draws with Saffron Dynamo, Clifton All Whites and Barrow Town.

While pitch work is completed at Kirkby Road, this game will be played at Bedworth United’s The Oval ground. You can find it on Coventry Road, Bedworth, CV12 8NN.

The Coventry Road car park turnstile is the only one in operation. The bar will be open and also serving hot drinks, tea, coffee etc. There will be no canteen running for hot food, but Debbie’s Shack over by the Main Stand will be open and she does cold snacks, soup, and bovril as well as teas and coffees.
