Match Preview: Holbrook Sports (a)

holbrook-sportsHinckley AFC’s Buildbase FA Vase campaign gets underway tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Holbrook Sports, kick off 3pm.
Carl Abbott’s side reached the First Round of the competition for the first time last season, and start this season’s journey against the Derbyshire side.
Holbrook currently sit seventeenth in the East Midlands Counties League, also at step six of the non-league pyramid, having won their second game of the season at Aylestone Park on Tuesday.
But they have lost all five league matches at their Shaw Lane ground, despite only losing one of their four away games.
FA Vase LogoHinckley come into the game off the back of Saturday’s 4-1 win against Pershore Town, in which Ryan Seal’s stunner from the centre circle took the headlines in what was a fine team performance.
The only downside was a lapse in concentration at the back, which allowed Pershore a late consolation goal and denied Hinckley their first clean sheet of the season.
The winners of the tie will visit another East Midlands Counties side – Nottinghamshire outfit Greenwood Meadows – in the next round in a fortnight’s time, and will also receive £600 in prize money from the FA.
