Match Preview: Anstey Nomads (a)

After their Emirates FA Cup extra preliminary round draw at the weekend, Hinckley AFC and Anstey Nomads will try again in the replay tonight.

Grant Ryan’s opener was cancelled out by Corey Armeni’s second half strike as Hinckley the two step six sides couldn’t be separated in their original tie at the Welfare Ground on Saturday.

Now, the Leicestershire rivals will go head-to-head at Anstey’s Cropston Road this evening with the hope of reaching the preliminary round.

It has been a familiar story so far this season for Hinckley, who have gone into half time with a 1-0 lead in each of their three games thus far, before being pegged back to draws in the second half.

Armeni has been Anstey’s most potent goal threat so far in this fledgling season, egging three times in his two games thus far.

And with both sides only drawing matches this season, something has to give tonight with a place in the next round on offer – with extra time and penalties taking place if necessary.

The winners will be at home to Barton Town or Clipstone in the next round in 12 days’ time, as those two sides also couldn’t be separated at the weekend and will also replay tonight.

The winners will pick up £2,250 from the FA’s prize fund, with the defeated side picking up £750. That’s twice as much as has been available in previous years, while the losing side can pick up money for the first time.

Anstey play at Cropston Road, Anstey, LE7 7BP.
